Help we're drowning
« on: June 09, 2012, 01:24:49 PM »
This is incredible, haven't seen rain like this since the last hurricane.  Entire back yard is under water, probably 6 inches so far since this morning

Not only that, I had to drive to Montgomery and back this morning.  Going was not bad but left out coming back about noon and the rain and idiots headed to the beach made for a miserable trip home.  Please note that I did not cuss (out loud) or shoot anyone because I had my 83 year old mom and 9 year old grandson with me.

Y'all did get hammered.  My worst rain was from Atmore to home.

get your waders out.

Issued at 3:10 PM

* Through Monday morning

* an upper level system combined with a stalled frontal boundary
will linger across the region through early next. This will
continue to allow several rounds of heavy rainfall to affect the
area. Heavy rainfall has already fallen across the watch area today
with as much as 10 to 14 inches across portions of southern Mobile
and Baldwin counties in Alabama and southern Escambia and Santa
Rosa counties in northwest Florida. Additional rainfall amounts of
4 to 8 inches are possible through Monday morning. This will
aggravate this ongoing flooding situation in addition to causing
  new flooding.

Damn, that is some RAIN!!!  We had about 7.5" between Thurs and Fri, but, fortunately, we are on high ground.  I don't think "higher ground" applies to P'Cola...

My house is off grade, so no chance of flooding in the house, but the septic tank is done... Hopefully it will lay off a little overnight and let the ground water fall a little, our ground water rises and falls with the bayou high and low tide and when we get this much rain 13+ inches today, it just can't soak in

I'll call Lew in the morning, see if we can get together for a few in between the rain, but doubt we'll dump the girls in the water tomorrow, thanks for the kind words :salut:

Looks to be mostly stopped now - some heavy rain in Mobile still but at least you get a breather now.
Be safe Marc.
