Yeah when I had the the performance chip in my truck it was fun...  taking off from a light leaving a massive cloud of black smoke was fun....  Embarrassing my buddy in his Porsche at a street light and giving him a lesson in what torque is at the same time was a blast.   $3700 smackers for a tranny overhaul/ mods....  not so fun!

i plan on doing an egr delete, replace oil cooler, do head studs, and other things while its apart next fall.

so far i absolutely love the truck, gets way better mileage than my 95 f150 351w. so far the only thing i dont like is the small(ish) tank, 29 gallons. kinda short range when towing... i do plan on installing a titan tank 51 gallons in stock location

No sorry, I dont think I ever will.
A couple of years ago, I was going to buy a new
f350 loaded with the utility bed.
It priced out at about 85,000
for what I wanted.

I decided to keep my 2000 and do some things to it
I spent less than 10,000 making it real nice
Truck has always served me well

I have 160K on my 02 7.3 and I plan on keeping it for a while.  Roadasprin has a F-350 wtih over 800K miles on the 7.3!  I guess when I do decide replace it I'll go for the new 6.7.

Wow, I will show this to my buddy, who is a sand/shell hauler locally, and said " the commercial diesels are what we call "throw away" engines", meaing you would never rebuild them like you would be able to resleeve and rebuild his "industrial" HD engine.  He just sold his with a little over a million miles on it. I think he would be impressed on the mileage by Roadasprin.

Actually I think it has more than that on it.  He lost track of it at 800k.  Keep in mind the 7.3 is a engine that Iternational used in its meduim duty trucks.  I had a Cargostar cabover that had the 6.9 in it that ran like a top when I sold it.  The only reason I sold it was the cab was rotted out.  The 7.3 is called a T444E in International trucks.

When I bought my last truck I went with a Dodge 3500 w/Cummins diesel. I have always had Ford trucks for the last 30 years but they were all gas engines. I decided to get a diesel this last time as I wanted to buy a 5th wheel motorhome.  I wasn't looking for a new truck just a great condition used one. I looked at them all for months, and learned all about the Ford 6.0 diesel and it's issues.

I decided I wasn't brave enough to go for the Ford 6.0 and didn't need to worry as there were other choices. I looked for a nice Chevy Duramax or Dodge Cummins. As the Cummins is a medium duty diesel, I was leaning towards a 2004-2007 Dodge with the proven 5.9 engine. Found a 2006 with 27,000 miles that was all set up for towing a 5th wheel in perfect shape, so thats what's in my driveway.
