I'm assuming you searched this Forum.

Was this what you were looking for?
http://www.scribd.com/doc/90035327/Yama ... Guide-2002

Yep that was what I was looking for, many thanks!  The search string I was using was specifically looking for a PDF.  That'll teach me to use quotes and no wild cards..

I did get about 30 pages of good stuff and a SX150tx/lx owners manual out of it so there was a bit of a score..

A PDF library here would be GREAT!  Any idea if we are setting Rick up for some time in the pokey for copywrite infringement by letting us repost  pdf's? I am not sure about an issue like that unless the file says something in letters big enough that I don't need glasses to see...

I think there is a certain aspect in regards to profiting from posting copyrighted material that would have certain parties interested...

I certainly would not be so cavalier as to the CAS copyright liability but I will ask this.

In the case of the Teleflex material, it is currently made available on their website for download and printing at no cost so does this make it say, public domain (whatever that means)?

Logic would dictate that if it resides on the web LEGALLY and can be had for free, posting here should not create a problem.

Flawed thinking?

Captain, we need your help on this one son.

Yes Bob, it definitely resides in the public domain, anybody who has search capabilities can download Teleflex's manuals for free.  As well as thousands of other manuals for thousands of other products.

We've all heard the disclaimer, "This document may not be reproduced without the express written authorization of..."   Basically, I say, Yeah, right...

Kinda the old "bigger fish to fry" type of deal.  Hell, if you look at my site, theprolineguy, I offer the manual to download, and Marc Adams, OF TELEFLEX, is a member!!!

Well that's my feelings also but I'll defer to the Captain if he has any final thoughts.

In the mean time, I'll start scurrying around and see what I can find that would help and begin setting it up in the Resource forum starting with the Teleflex info. Your schematics would be good files also since they are often requested. There's a good deal of info out there, we just need to use "sober" judgement on our posts.

Seastar is a great place to start, as well as the Baystar manual, as more people want to get into hyd steering that have 150 HP or less motors, and don't want to spend the Seastar $$.  Faria Tach settings is also a good one, basically the same as Teleflex settings, addresses all different O/Bs.

A Resource file download forum would be a good forum to have, especially if it had it's own search function to search within the forum itself, say "Fusion Stereos", and the various model number manuals come up in the search...

Hey, just some food for thought...

OK,
I've created a thread in the Resource forum and used JJ's .pdf as a start. (sorry I deleted it here).
I'll go back to the Teleflex site and pluck out some additional .pdfs for my post.
Until (or if) a new forum is created, I'm hoping that we can keep some order by members creating a specific post for their download.
Bob, start where you like but electric schematics would be one I'd like (just sayin') and easy enough to add to in the future.
Search specific by limiting the search to just the current Resource forum (if members do that) will help them find what we have easier.

So it begins.

Well done, CB!  I'll post up my drawings later on, in the meantime, in search of a Seastar back-mount tilt helm install manual myself...
