Quote from: "BTF112989"
And of course this man is from Knoxville...  Making my aquasport & I look pretty bad here in Tennessee.  Its a shame the state can't find some law he is violating.  This just hurts the taxpayers and lowers the quality of life for his children.

What is interesting is that China as we all know has the most strict population growth controls in the world. The president of a company that we do business with had a "slip up" and had a second child; it cost him the equivelant of $67,000 in a fine paid to the government. The fine is based on your salary and other factors. If you are a government employee and have a second child, you lose your job. There is no welfare system in China so you are SOL! The horror of all of this is that you can imagine what is going on with forced abortions and other back alley practices. The irony off all of this is that the low income population is still producing families of 8-10 children that the government cannot stop even with the Chinese version of "incentives". So the situation is the same as this country. The lower the education and income the bigger the headcount in offspring. Whats really scary now is that 23% of teenagers are now diabetic; mainly from low income eating habits, lack of education and obesity. We educated people are going to be writing the checks for these health issues for the next 50 years!

Excellent observations, all true.

Regarding the guy in the first link: To my way of thinking, the rest of us shouldn't have to support the product of his and all of his baby-mommas antics. Its just plain sick.

Here is what I'm thinking, and I'm serious here:

Maybe we should try this method only with an update, say cell phone or an iPad.

From 1952 until mid 1976, more than 19million men had undergone voluntary sterilization.Transistor radios were distributed for free, blatantly used to promote the government’s family plan, to men who volunteered for a vasectomy.

A man who lived through that period explains

" People underwent the vasectomy just to get the free radio because on the black market this would have sold for 2-3 weeks wages.
Also many of the poorly educated country people and the beggars were so ill-informed of what they were losing in order to get the radio, that they didn’t see why they shouldn’t line up again to get a second one."

A novel approach to birth control that I always found interesting. Trouble is/was, I never got a radio.

Interesting read Bob.

I read a book in high school titled "Ishmael" by Daniel Quinn. The Jist of the book was that farming and stockpiling food was to blame for the population explosion. One quote I liked was, "... put  60 rats in a cage and give them enough food for 60 rats, and you'll always have 60 rats. Its really that simple".

Then, the main character in the book was a talking Gorilla, so take it for what its worth

And then you have the moral pinnicles like John Edwards; who can't keep it in his pants until after his poor wife dies of cancer. I wonder what kind of birth control laws he would help write? I don't need birthcontrol cause I is educated; what a DAss.

Talk about shame, and the states these idiots are from....John Edwards is the scourge of our state.

Hopefully he gets life in a Federal pen, and meets a nice man.
