Gota like charitable auction with a open bar

Bought this fish art at our Rotary Auction while back, needless to say the other half wasn't to impressed with me.
when she found out I got it she said no way are you hanging that thing in the house. :oops:
Had to agree with her the next morning with a clearer head :( , dam thing looks like something in between a salmon on steroids and Alfred E Newman.
Its been sitting in my shop at home for a month or so.
Thought to myself what better group of people to ask for a honest opinion, they obviously have good taste because they own probably one of the finest looking boat every made. :wink:
Decided to hang it up on my shop at home

Looks better the farther you get away from it.  :D

Crown Royal will do that to a feller.  

Now with your Tanqueray, you may have drifted towards the cooler green colors - probably would have ended up with a Mutant Mahi Dorado type sculpture-thingie.

Well, some folks 'round this joint - not to be mentioned by name (but usernames are fair game: Gran398  :tongue: ) are prone to be caught on film, proudly drankin' something bright orangie-red.  If that's the case, you will definitely be walkin' out of the Elks Lodge with a fabulously flashy paper mache' Parrot fish, complete with the Dee-Lux mounting bracket set.

I believe in your case, them browner tones reflect the rough hewn toughness of a Crown Royal man...

...possibly even a (newborn) George Dickel dranker..... just like me.  :drunken:


In your case, I like the placement of the fish, it is complimented by the building's wood siding.  

I think your sweetheart has a finely developed sense of style and grace, and that you should compliment her, thank her, and then take her out for a special bite to eat at her favorite vittles house.  

Who could argue with that?  Well, there's probably someone, but they would just be wrong :cheers:

So I guess I have the lowliest of all ..the Dog Salmon hanging on my shop  :(  :(
The only thing it is missing are teeth...I can fix that.
I sure am happy they didn't have a Totem pole at the auction, I have wanted to put one up for a long time.....God only knows what I  would have paid for that.
As far as switching to drinking George Dickel ,Trace,will that fix stupid :drunken:
Anyways it seems you all think it looks good and I truly do appreciate everyone for being so kind... for now it escapes the burn pile. :cheers:

I like it too Bill.
I also have some "art" that my wife does not like (hates).  As long as I keep it in my cave she doesn't say anything but when she does happen to stick her head in the door she just walks away shaking her head and mumbling.

I had some art at one time but I got married and all my stuff I mean art ended up in my shed.I like the fish!
