welcome to classic aquasport! The 250 Osprey is an awesome boat, very offshore capable and sturdy, great fishing boat!
Some pics would help
Is it A tournment master edition?should be a decal on the hull, more options for that model
Only concern is the motor, take it to a Merc tech, get it checked out
Price sounds fair based on your description
Good luck!   :salut:

Welcome also!!!  Hours on motor are very important as to price. Check for soft spots in deck around console. Really jump on it to try and make it flex. Open the access to bilge and stick your nose in there. Moldy,  mildewy means it had water sitting in there for a while. Any slight smell of gas,oil is bad news. I think that boat has a poly tank so corrosion should not be a problem. If it passes this stuff it doesn't sound like a bad deal. The motor is the deciding (bargaining) factor. Pics please!!!!!!

I don't have any pictures. But... Yes it is the tournament edition with the decal on the side.

It's in Florida at his beach house. It has no bottom paint as its stored on a trailer.  I am planning on going down at the end of the month to take it for a sea trial and do some fishing.  Unknown on the hours but he's just replaced two thermostats water pump alternator belt put in new gear oil just for general maintenance not because it needed it.  He's taken care of it.

It's a green color hull.

The nada book value was over 19k. He just spent a grand on the motor maintenance and two brand new batteries.

There was a green one running around Florida over by Pete's area last year, how long has your friend owned this boat, why is he selling it?

250 has a 141 gal. Aluminum tank.  The 225 was standard on her, and, she is definitely a TM edition...

The 225 Osprey has the 102 gal. poly tank, Lewis.  Same deal for the Osprey's Explorer sisters...

He's out of panama city.  He's not had any trouble that I know of he just wanted to make sure it's ready to go and doesn't give him any trouble.

He's retiring in a year and wants to put the money on a big boat.

Thanks for all the info.

Can't decide to buy this boat or a 23' boat with a four stroke.  Cheaper boat and a lot less fuel consumption.

Leaning towards a 23.

The 250 Osprey is probably an awesome boat. I would love to have the extra 5' on my boat. I was out yesterday and the waves were probably around 4-5' in the after noon. Going back in wasn't bad at all around 20-25mph, but going out would have been tough against the waves. I think I have a case of the 3 footitus. I think that as long as the boat is in good shape, you'll have a great time with it.
