So I finally sold my 21' Mako and re-powered the "King of the C's" with an E-Tec 200 HO, Wow is it quiet and powerful.  And no smoke!!! I also had the boat rewired completely since the PO's seemed to have spliced into a splice into a splice for just about everything.  I do have a couple questions, that are probably pretty basic for you experienced boat owners...  I have a raw water pump switch and what looks to be a fresh water wash down?  Maybe?  Here are some pics:
Where or how am I filling/draining/using this??  When I switch the Raw Water Pump switch on, I hear a pump right in the area of where the strainer is below the boat in the rear (see pic below).

Is this to draw water in somehow?

This I believe is a live well located in front of the center console... I see a pump, a drain and something along the top but I am not sure what it is... How do I fill it, and drain it.  I know the switch I have aerates and turns the light on in the box:

Here are my switches:

And the front 3 boxes... do they hold water?  I see drains... not sure - I am such a noob.

And finally my new power source:

Sorry for all  the questions guys... maybe I should have used separate posts, but any info you can all share would be greatly appreciated!

I'll answer what I think I see in the photos.

I would not guess you have a fresh water wash down unless you aren't showing why you think you have one. I'd bet the hose bib is for a raw water wash.

The "scoop" on the bottom of the hull is the raw water supply.

Not sure how the bait well gets filled from what you show but the black bar located at the top is an aerator bar fed by the yellow pump.

I'll let the members with that type well give you the "rest of the story".

The "toothbrush" and string are a nice touch but I don't believe I've seen them used in a bait well before.

Thanks Bob,
I am not sure of any fresh water wash, although I thought someone said I had one.  So if I turn the pump on for the raw water it will come out the hose bib?  And the purpose??  Not sure what I would use salt water for aside from filling a bait box...

Oh, and as for the "toothbrush"... previous owners paraphernalia... gotta clean those boxes out now that I spent all the money on a new motor and wiring.

So many questions and so much to learn :?

For this!

So basically when I hit that bloodbath of a fishing day that I dream about, the raw water pump will provide me with water to immediately wet down the deck and anything else that got "anointed"

So I should hook up a small hose inside that cabinet and then its just a matter of turning on the pump and turning that lever next to the hose?

Now you got it! Much easier than buckets. Some pumps don't have a lot of pressure (not enough flow) but that can be fixed with a higher capacity pump since you already have all the plumbing and wiring for it.

Thanks so much Lewis, I am starting to get it now.  So, how do I use the livewell?  Filling and draining specifically...

Is the yellow pump over the high speed pickup? Is there a shutoff in between the pump and the pickup?
Does the pump try to come on? Is there another pump?
Looks like you would simply plug the drain and the livewell would fill, just like mine. Where is this livewell located? We need a pic of the surrounding area with the lid open to help anymore. Check under the deck and see if you have any of this stuff.

jay, if you have freshwater washdown, there will be a fill on the gunnel or console labeled "water", it will look just like a gas fill. There will also be a small white plastic tank under decks, or in the console.

Your front boxes with the drains are insulated fishboxes. They drain overboard. If not used for fish they can be used for storing cold beverages and chicken.

That's a very "interesting" setup in that livewell.  A Mayfair bilge pump acting as a livewell pump.  Haven't seen that before, but...

Notice you also have a what is probably a diverter valve (see that gray handle?).  Turn it one way, your washdown hose bib gets fed.  Turn it the other way, it feeds your livewell...at least that's what I'm thinking...

Ok, thanks for all the responses... but shouldn't all you guys in sunny Florida be out fishing!?!?!

I took a few more pics just to maybe put things in perspective.  I am now 99.9% sure I have no fresh water tank.

A diverter valve huh... I guess once I drop it into the slip I will test that theory out and see what happens.

Here is where the live well is.  There is a drain at the bottom and what seems to be an overflow hole at the top left?

And here are two of the 3 fish boxes up front.  All three have drains.  Should all of these boxes (including the livewell) have plugs too?

Jaycal3,

Here is a link to a CA thread with similar questions, if I did it right:

These observations should help you out some, where applicable, although your new boat (CONGRATS !!) is a different model.

Don't worry about being a noobie, everyone here is really great and before you know it the salt will be practically flaking off of you.

See, I didn't realize the livewell is in the console. Do you have access above where the pickup is? The front fishboxes probably are drained out through a thru hull. They might have one for each. What can you feel under the drain through that piehole?

Jay,
Installed a new Lenco Trim tab control box this morn on a customers boat at his house, just got done installing the correct horn switch on Wesnapp's 200 (ready to go home), and shortly will be taking apart the wiring in the console of a 24 ProKat...yeah, fishing this morn would have been great, but now that it's May, and summer has arrived, afternoon fishing is HOT!!!  And I ain't talking about the bite...

Lewis, I did mention it above in my original post although it is buried in between pics and hard to see - sorry for the confusion.  I will check for above access later today.  And as for the front boxes, I am sure you are right about a thru hull...

T Race, thanks, I hope to learn a lot from everyone here.  I should be dropping the boat in next week where it will stay in the water all season - a lot to learn and never enough time!!

Seabob, if you want me to feel bad about the hot weather, well, I dont!  Up here in the Northeast Mother Nature cant figure out what she wants!!  And if you ever come up this way, you are welcome on my boat anytime!
