Fuel Tank Size (Re-Post from PM)
« on: April 30, 2012, 12:20:16 PM »
Rburge (RB) sent a PM to all Gulf Coast members.  NOTE: RB, if you have a general question that you want all the board members to view and comment on, select "New Topic" in the appropriate forum, and post in there.  Then all hands will see it.  I know there was a thread devoted to just this question, but couldn't find it? It's a MONDAY.

The tank is 102 gallons, but you don't need the physical size, you need the depth where the sender is located.  Simply remove the old sender and use that as a gauge, or stab the tank at that point to determine depth, then order 1/2" shorter...

That would be the logical approach :thumleft:

I believe the 225 used a poly tank (SB?) so looking on the Moeller site for a 102 gal, the depth shows 15.5". Since this is for a current production tank and may not reflect what was made for your model, remove and measure is the fool proof method.

Good luck.

I don't know if the 225 tank is any shallower than the 245 tank or not.  I would say they are the same depth only the length is different.  I don't remember exactly how deep my tank was but it was at least 18".  I'd just pull your sender and measure the depth of the tank as already mentioned...  Thats what I did.
