Fuses
« on: April 08, 2012, 06:14:04 PM »
OK, feel stupid even having to ask, but ask I will. My Lowrance GPS. is for now, powered through a cigarette lighted outlet in my dashboard. This is a 215Explorer remember. Well anyway, I grounded out that connection while out yesterday, the unit itself works fine, (verified by connecting in my truck), but I'm not gettin juice to the cigarette outlet. Lookin for breakers/fuses and have only found the 3 in the splashwell, starboard aft. None of those three are burnt and I can find no other fuses. Am I missing a location? Could I have damaged the outlet when I grounded it out with my keys yesterday? The 3 fuses in the splashwell are the cylinder glass type yet I found a container with many different amp 2 prong fuses in my Dads tool box. The Aquasport manual is no help.
Appreciate ya

Is there a false ceiling or some kind of box in the cabin right behind the helm bulkhead and under the gauge area?
I have one on my 230 and I'm pretty so do you.  Unscrew the mousefur covered boards and there should be access to everything and I bet there are some fuses back there.

Cigarette lighter receptacles are notorious for bad connections.

Do you have little rubber boots above or below your switches and 12v outlet? if you do those are the breakers, push to reset.
