Curious as to the spectrum of their building...

The 290 XF is the biggest they made.
Carl, take a little time and look on the first page of our photo gallery - has spec sheets from most of the models made.  Some are missing.

Someday...SOMEDAY, I will gut a 290, beef up the transom, and bracket mount a pair of 300 Vrods on her...

Just have to figure out how to incorporate the former engine room into the living spaces...

Cool thanks. I figure there are always great deals out there. I REALLY love the one I picked up, but it would be nice to have a project going on in the background.

Carl,
No, the 290 was a twin straight shot I/B.  Haven't seen any in I/O configuration, doesn't mean there is not one out there.

A 29' boat is a tough boat to build as an I/B (especially straight shot) as people expect a goodly bit of cabin room from a boat that size (overnighting and what have you), but at that size, unless you go with V-drives, you'll have no mid-cabin.  Great for a couple, but throw in two kids in the mix and....nah, ain't gonna happen.

So I would yank the motors and underwater gear, glass over the holes in the bottom and fair it in, throw on an Armstrong bracket for the O/Bs, re-configure the fuel tank(s), and figure out how to take that former engine room and turn it into a mid-berth.

32' is about as small as I'd go with a twin I/B boat...

Ahh, IB. Still, like you said, needs O/B. The Osprey it's my first boat with a good one, and I'm not going back. I love it.

I was fishing today when I saw a 290xf with a full tower and outriggers out near St. Pete reef.  Looked cool.

Actually Rick....no.  Raise the helm so there would be some sitting down below in the mid cabin.  Quite a project that would be...

The 250 Osprey I guess was their biggest that came from the factory? I want to keep an eye out for a cheap one, how much more would it cost to convert a single engine O/B to a twin O/B set up, besides the extra motor?

The Wellcraft factory, yes.

The Hialeah factory produced a 27(271) later billed as a 281 (Keith K to the white phone). These were Ospreys also.
