OK, the folks at the Hampton Inn Southport have agreed to a special rate for Aquasport Octoberfest folks of $89  for October 12 and 13.  

The rate code for the special rate is AQU - you can make reservations anytime between now and October 1 at the $89 rate - tell them you are with the Aquasport group.  The Hampton Inn Southport is located between the Southport Marina and the house where we will get together on Friday and Saturday nights - very convenient!

Allrighty boys.....It's time to for the Cheerleader


We're going right back to where the magic began...Southport, NC....the weekend of October 12-14, 2012.

It is an absolutely beautiful area....big live oaks, yaupons, lighthouses...an interesting and quaint historic fishing village, very picturesque.

Great fishing. Flounder, spots, speckled trout, DRUM , bluefish, croaker, popeye mullet, virginia mullet, gray trout, black drum, seabass, grouper, snapper, tilefish, barrelfish, lizardfish, king mack, cero mack, spanish mac, mac and cheese.....pretty much any species targeted can be caught here. I'll be bringing a TON of fishing tackle, mostly king mack gear, to be shared among the fleet.

Weather. Nothing like fall on the Carolina coast. Take a look at the pics from the first reunion. Clear blue sky, beautiful sea, warm days, cool nights.

Food. Fresh seafood in abundance. Skillfully prepared by master chefs trained at the CIHK (Culinary Instite of Hard Knocks). Big single oysters. Fresh jumbo shrimp. Big blue crab. Fresh stone crab. Fried grouper, fried shrimp, fried chicken by golly....all fried in the heart-healthy Calabash tradition

Adventure. It WILL be an adventure

Company. We all like genuinely like each other, and have a great time! You and yours will have FUN

Based upon verbal commitments, this will be the largest gathering of Aquasport boats, fans, afficionados, and spouses in the history of the world As always...the more the merrier!  Please make your reservations NOW. Every weekend that time of year there are King Tourneys going on, and the accommodations get booked up...so please make you plans NOW to attend....You won't be disappointed!! For many of us, it was the best weekend of the year

Looking forward to the weekend... Was just there Labor Day weekend, The lovely Mrs and I will camp at her parents place in Southport....and we know about where the house is at the beach... Sounds like it will be a good turnout.

Good deal, we're all looking forward to the reunion!

It's time for a head count, in terms of boats, number of attendees, food planning, etc.

Southport Marina (our launch site) offers wetslips for groups. Their rates for overnight dockage are reasonable, and downright cheap if a group.

Which will save us time and money, versus putting in Friday, hauling out Friday, launching again Saturday, etc.

Therm, Jesse, SC 170, gwhitley....you guys are coming we hope?

Rhojo...is everything locked in?

We still have to make our reservations, should be doing that this week so I will confirm after that but as of right now we are good to go. Planning on getting down there as early as possibly Friday.
