What other "classics" do you have?
« on: March 15, 2012, 02:56:48 PM »
As I get older, I'm noticing that alot of my stuff could be called classic. Maybe it's because I'm a horder and don't replace things.

Anyhow, here is a true "Classic" as in Donzi Classic 2+3. It's gone now but I had it for many years....

Let's see some other "Classic" stuff.

Here's a bit of nostalgia. Posted here a long time ago.

Still brings back good memories.

And don't regret selling it. Lot of HP. But all original...and the drum brakes wouldn't stop it.

First Corvette "Sting Ray"...1963. 327 cubes...340 hp. Solid lifters. Numbers matching. Borg-Warner T-10 4 speed tranny.

1964 4 speed upgrade was the Muncie "rock crusher."

At this point my wife is pretty much a classic but probably would not bring $5

I got an old Willys 1946 CJ-2A.  It's got the original drivetrain, patched body, and a newer frame.  It's our old hunting jeep that my dad and I just can't get rid of.  It runs like a top and cruises at 25 mph.  Much faster isn't any fun.  We even had it in he parrish heritage parade last weekend.  It got a good bit of attention and salutes.  I will post up pictures when I get off my iPhone.

Side by side CLASSICS

One of them is cutting into my fishing time. :(  :(

The goat is my 21 year old son.
Give you 2 guesses on who's restoring it.
The first guess doesn't count

Also, Thanks to Scott.
The 63's to 67's Corvettes are  my fav. That was one courageous car you had, Thanks for sharing

Here is my other classic project.

1955 Airstream Flying Cloud

Serial # 7909, built at the North Main Street plant in Los Angeles around September of 1955. It has the 13 panel front endsection with the 9 panel dutchman's cap rear section. These are known as a "whaletail" due to the shape of the center panel above the rear window.
There were only about 125 of these models built that year and as of now there only about 17 left that are known to exist.

These are some pics of a 1954 Airstream Flying Cloud that has been totally overhauled and redone. It was commissioned by Orvis and was sold at auction for charity for $157,000.00 back in December. One day I hope to have this one halfway close to it.

Here is some of the wiring I found when I started removing the interior panels.

Yes, that is Romex! Check out the really great splices!

akbridge? is that a CJ-3A?

Here is my 1967 CJ-5 that I restored:

I also have a 1946 CJ-2A that is being restored.  A 1957 Willys Jeep FC-150 waiting restoration.   I'm also building a Van's RV-7A kit plane that is about 90% done with 90% to go.

Awesome Airstream. I picked up a Wee Wind for cheap a few years back and ended up flipping it. It is a 1948 with a pipe frame, unrestored and in great shape. They don't make them like that anymore... I would like to find a vintage Safari or tradewind.
