170 trolling motor question
«

I am picking up a 170 on Friday and a buddy of mine has given me his old trolling motor from his bass boat. It is a 42", I know it is not ideal, but will the blades be under water?

What kind of TM did he give you - the kind that mounts on the front or rear of the boat?

It is a bow mount motorguide.
I did a search and found that a 45" works but is not ideal - wondering if this holds true for a 42" as well.
