Plumbing/drain diagram 250 CCP
« on: March 12, 2012, 11:57:29 AM »
We have been working on the CCP we bought back in December. We have the engines dialed in now after a couple months of work and are getting all of the bells and whistles in order. The previous owner did some strange things when it comes to the drainage from the bait-well in front of the console as well as the raw water and fresh water wash-down drainage in front of the console. Any help or diagrams of the original drainage layout of a 87'-89' CCP would be great. Also the large fish box under the deck, where/ how is it supposed to drain? There is a bilge pump down there, but it is not connected to anything. We are thinking we will have to re-plumb the entire boat with new hoses, clamps and as few unions and connectors as possible.

There was more work to do on this boat than we anticipated but it will all be worth it. We took her out for another trial run last week. There was probably a 20 mph wing and a two foot chop on the lake we were on and you would have never known it. dry, smooth and fast. cruising speed at 4000 RPM of 38/39 MPH. This boat can handle some rough conditions from what we have seen so far. Thanks for the help.

Not sure about the below deck fishbox that replaced the on deck coffin box?  Do you have a thru hull on the starboard side of the hull right at the water line that is even with the fishbox?  It should be about half way down the starboard side.  If so, that should have a hose running off of it going to the below deck fishbox.  Maybe the below deck fishbox drains into the bildge    I would think the fishbox would have another way to drain besides the bildge.  As I said, not very familiar with the in deck fishbox.  This would be my guess.

The above deck coffin had a brass drain built in to the deck and a hose attached to that thru hull I have mentioned.  Here is a picture of that thru hull.  Look uner the last 2 in the 222:

There is not a thru hull on the starboard side. This model CCP doesn't have a coffin. Does your 222 CCP have a fresh water and raw water sink in front of the center console? Is there a bait-well there also?

JD,
I don't see a displacement drain in the photos he posted. At least not on the same side (starboard) as you have.
It would be a good place for the sink to drain (using head pressure) but I'm not sure about the fish box.

Here's a pic of the coffin drain

It's hard to see but there is also a pie plate to the left that allows (ha ha) access to the hose connections.

EDIT: Evan no, there was nothing like that on our model (222). The pic above is from an 84.

Doc will come around soon and explain how the front of his 250 works - he has the sinks, cutting boards, refrig (maybe not   ), etc.

Yeah, I wasn't sure like I said.  Never thought about the sink in front of the console.  One thing is for sure, that below deck fishbox would have to drain somewhere other than in the bilge.  Oh well, gave it a shot.
