If anyone's curious, here is what I've been doing nights/weekends.

Looks good - a unique design.  How tall is it?  What size can - er, livewell?

The live well is 20 gallons. It's not exactly a live well as it only has a bubbler.  It keeps the scup allive and that all I care about at this point. I also use it for Lobsters.

The dimensions are 36"H x 30"W x 16"D.

I'll be adding rod holders to the top and a pvc pipe that goes from side to side with screw on caps for chart storage.

The whole thing will be painted with epoxy. I used EasyPoxy on the console and it has held up well so I'll do the same for this.

Just for clarifaction. Easypoxy has NO epoxy in it.

All it is is a glorfied Alkyd Enamel.

I have used it in the past. I will not use it again. There are much better paint's out there.

I'm sure there are much better paints/epoxys out there. Which one(s) do you like?

I am happy with EasyPoxy so that's what I use.

Well to start with a true epoxy paint is not something that you want to paint the outside of any boat with. The UV ray's will eat it and and the surface will become very chalky.

Now I do use a true epoxy in bildge's, inside of cuddy cabin's and inside of console's. Anything that the sun is not going to beat on.

Shurwin William's makes a product called Tile Clad HS. A 1gal kit [that's a gal of part A and a gal of part B] is aprox $40ea.
It is designed to be used to paint the inside of water tower's so it's OUTSTANDING in a bildge. FYI I hate Gray bildges. they look dark and gloomy. It is also a good paint to do your shop or garage floor's in.

For every thing else it's regular Awlgrip.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I really like Awlgrip but it's a little pricey. I agree about grey bilges. They should be white, IMO.

Here's what I did for my Dory:
West System'd the outside of the hull, placing tape along the seams of the hull.
Painted it with bright red Easypoxy.
Coated the Easypoxy with clear West System.

Now all I do spread more WS on the bottom of the hull at the beginning of the seaon. Holds up fine being pulled up and down the beach. No more red paint on the sand too.

I was thinking of doing the same to this project.
