I have a few questions... I'm a huge noob to fishing from a boat. I mean, I can drink beer and cast all day, but I'd like to broaden my spectrum to actually catching some stuff that's edible. What kind of fishing are we going to be doing at egmont? I just want to have an idea so I know if there is some stuff I need to pick up. Second, although I know I'm not going to be able to splash as early as you all, I'd like to put in near some of the clearwater guys so we can cruise back together. I have no goal of what time to be home.

You name it, and its out there right now.  Fishing is red hot right now.  Your easiest bet would be to target mackerel.  Look for diving birds and frantic waters.  Throw any lure. jig, spoon or white bait(with a 1 or 1/0 long shank hook) right in to the churned up water and you'll catch more than enough fish.  No need to anchor, just keep your motor running, catch a few, then move to a different pod of birds/fish.  You will probably get a few trout too.  If you want to target trout, drift the flats behind Egmont with either shrimp or whitebait(under a small float).  You want sheepshead, fish the pier on the north side with pieces of shrimp or barnacles with a small hook. I could keep going but I think you get the idea.

Well guys, I have to bail on this one, as well.  Business just dictates that I need to work this weekend...which is good, but bad.  With the bite on, and the apparent end to winter (we didn't have one), customers want their boats.  

I have more and more boats, customers who want switch panels, even consulting jobs designing harnesses for boats up north...and in this day and age, one takes all the business one can handle.

Just the deal, I guess...

I'd love to be there, Fernando Pm'd me tonight on time and place, and even offered me a ride at a later date...just to do some fishing.

Truth is, the sciatica is FINALLY going away (a few aspirin throughout the day keeps the pain at bay), it's allowing me to really get back into the physical aspect of my job (trust me, a lot of it's physical), and by the time Sunday rolls around, I really won't feel like diving back into things until Monday...

That's all in a 2' X 3' space, leaning in, laying on my side, sometimes with my head AND shoulders inside there, and I still have to do the batt switches nice and tidy...

Not something you want to get home and have to do after a day on the water and 3 hours on the road...

Like my relocation of the macerator switch to the breaker box?  The old switch was buried about 10" down from the sole in a box that I wondered...on my hands and knees...looking down...WTF is that down there?
