Impressive numbers.  25 gph at wot!

Now that I have a boat with a flowscan guage I was thinking of keeping a fuel log so I can keep track of my fuel usage etc.  Does anyone else do this? And if so do you have a sample log?

the main feature i like is i put in how many gallons i have in the tank, and set an alarm when it burns down to a certain amount, i have it currently set to go off when it gets down to a 1/4 tank

i want to run it head to head with my 23p to see what the fuel burn difference is.

kinda makes me want to repower with a new OB... but 10 grand does buy alot of fuel :drunken:

Aaron,

You're burn numbers seem high for a 200HP. You either got something going on in your fuel delivery system or effciency or you have more than 200 HP on your transom. That GPH supports 240HP and you should be going faster than 51 mph although I'm sure you are at max hull speed and adding HP won't make it go much faster. The OMC loopers were gas hogs; but typically not that bad... You are burning the same amount of fuel as twin 115's on my 22-2. Almost Identical gph and rpm @cruise and more on WOT. I can only get about 23 gph at WOT. As far as WOT rpm's you are golden at 5600. If she wants to ventilate, lower the jack plate.

she feels like she's bogging at WOT like from 5300-up theres no increase in power... when i had to replace my flywheel i think the timing adjustment screws got knocked out of placement by the flying magnets  , one screw was bent. i was gonna check/adjust timing today but didnt have an extra set of hands...

also since the flywheel magnets blew apart and knocked stuff around, ive noticed more soot in and around the hub than usual... otherwise idle to say 4500 she runs the same as usual...

Agree with Fitz - those top end fuel numbers look way to high.  Is the motor trimmed out, or straight down?  Could be timing issue, but have you checked your jet sizes against the specs?

I was thinking your WOT fuel burn was a tad high for a too.  I just came home from splashing "new" 245 Reel Crazy.   I was running 5600 at WOT and going just over 40 MPH and my fuel burn was about 23 or 24 GPH.  At 4500 RPM I was at 32 MPH and my fuel burn was 15-16 GPH.  I have no idea how to trim her out yet but that was with two people, 1/3 tank of fuel, full water tank and livewell.  It's early to tell but that works out to 2 MPG.   With a hard top in the wind?  I'm really happy!  :thumleft:

I would be too Bruce, good deal. Two mpg plus making that speed with a 2s is a happy number.

40mph @ 23gph = 1.74 mpg... 32mph @ 15gph = 2.13

You're burn numbers seem high for a 200HP.

Seems high to me too.  My 22-2 CCP with the '93 225 Oceanrunner could suck 23 gph but that was max.  (same fuel meter)
