Clearwater beach weather station is showing 14kt gusting to 20kts,  egmont key 8kt gusting to 13 kts (430) am,  st pete 12kt gusting to 14 kts

I second guessed my decision all night, but with those wind readings so early I think I made the right call for my situation.

When I came home across the skyway around 1pm it was not fit for man nor beast on that bay - must have been 4-5s.  I saw a couple smaller boats going reeeeeal slow and still bobbing up and down.  Saw a bigger boat - maybe a 30 ft and he was boogieing along into the windy and he would eat a big wave and it would almost stop him dead.
Hope if anyone did decide to go out, they hid real well.

it was pretty rough out, we attempted trying to make it to ft desoto but way too choppy

heres the only pic i got... and yes i brought a bag of cheetos!
