DT,

Very glad to hear from you !!  Glad everything has gone well and you'll be layin' carpet by the end of the month.

When you're able, I want to pick your brain on your Striper techniques that might work for me out here.

Get rested up, heal properly, drink lots of milk for your calcium, and catch up with Gilligan and the Skipper.

Once again, glad your back In-Communicado....

you being in the hospital was like the Apollo 13 commo blackout as it was re-entering the atmosphere...

...well, kind of like that...      ...not fer nothin'.  :D

Stripers are calling, John!

So what's the deal with recovery?  Is it getting the new parts used to the old ones?  Or is it more of a gentle introduction of the new into the old?  I am totally clueless as to how artificial knees and hips work...

I think its more like everything has to get back into sync. There is no more pain in the knee joint it self now its just the discomfort of everything healing which seems to be going well I can feel little changes for the better everyday.

I would like that it would be good to see how similar the Bass are from one coast to the other so ask away T.

DT
Around here they use sand fleas or anchovies (wrapped in panty hose) thrown from the beach. I've had zero success with that technique. In the lakes I've used live bait free-lined with moderate success.

I want to catch 'em in the ocean from the boat. Live bait is hard to come by. Do you think I could troll, near the surfline, a plastic swimbait or Rapala swimmer with any success?

What works best for you ? Thanks for your ideas and real glad you're getting better.

I've had about every treatment they have.  Now the only option I have left is cortisone  shots every 3 months or replacement.  The cortisone works but it does wear off.  Did you go down that road?  If so how long did it work?  Also I heard they have a new replacement proceedure where they do not cut the ligament across the front. It is suppose to be less intrusive. Did you have that proceedure or the conventional?

Hi Capt.Bill
Sorry I couldnot get back to you sooner but my laptop decided to turn into lapcrap any way My knee started to start bothering my about a year and a half ago and didnt waste no time going down hill.I had authroscopic surgery about 13 months ago the surgeon cleaned up the joint and took care of a tear in the maniscus. I felt a little better after the surgery but was still uncomfortable I could not use cortasone due to my heart issues I did try the gel injections and they worked to get me through last fishing season but buy october 2011 the pain started again. The new exrays showed bone to bone now so had the replacement done. My Surgeon is up on all the latest procedures. I was very comfortable with him doing the surgery I am 12 days out of surgery and starting to feel good I am walking with arm crutches and will probably go to crutches in a few days the therapy is tough especially the first week but is the most important thing after surgery to get your range of motion back. Hopefully I will get back to the boat in 2 weeks to get it ready for the season. Well Capt.Bill if you have anything else just ask otherwise Best of Luck with your surgery. Let my know how everything turns out.
