The New Knee

I am leaving for the Hospital in about an hour, surgery is at 11AM. I will see everybody in 3 days.

My mother-in-law just got a new knee.  She says it was not that bad but that the physical therapists are mean.   :wink:

Friend had one replaced end of Dec. he had his boat out last week for the first time, good luck and speedy recovery. :)

Thanks to everyone I made it. Not so bad actually walking with crutches I think I will be in pretty good shape bythe end of the month.

So what's the deal with recovery?  Is it getting the new parts used to the old ones?  Or is it more of a gentle introduction of the new into the old?  I am totally clueless as to how artificial knees and hips work...
