Is that the fella that Mike at ProMarine recommends?  He was talking to me about some young guy.

Small progress updates.   Its a little at a time at this point.  Hoping to have the boat in the water by the time tarpon start getting thick.  The rubrail is complete insert and all now.  Also found some nice S.S navigation lights (led) so did get those installed.  The first hatch from boat outfitters came in for the anchor locker.  Very happy with their product.  Also the porta bracket has been ordered unfortunately they are saying up 70 days until it ships.  All the friction hinges are installed on front hatches.  And have started wiring up the switch panel I ordered from new wire marine to hopefully get that installed next week sometime.  Also finished up the painting and latch install on the two rear hatches on the floor I had made originally.

Wow, nice rig.  196 is such a perfect sized boat.  I have some serious boat envy.

Thank you for the kind words.  I think it's going to be a great boat.  Ran it a few times before tearing it down.  As long as the boat does everything I want it to do I will be a happy camper.

Decided to make myself some new backing plates for the porta bracket.  Feel a little better about covering more surface area on the inside of the transom then original from porta.
First picture is the ones they include.

Funny you should post that.  I posted a few days ago asking about backing plates for a Porta Bracket:

What dimensions & thickness did you go with on your backing plates?  I'm looking to do something similar.
