One more thought... Forget the flowers that die, last year Lewis got me a beautiful Jackson Perkins rose bush and I was able to enjoy cut flowers all the way until Nov.  Now that's value.  Don't forget if you have roses in your garden, here in the South you cut back & fertilize them the last weekend in Feb.

Shrimp dinner out last night.  Planted the dogwood she wanted last weekend.  I cook most nights so that earns zero points.  I fix the automatic coffee pot every night so there is coffee waiting every morning when she gets up at 5.

Maybe I'll get her a Snickers bar.

I did get her a humorous V-day card and a box of JuJu Fruit.  She lit up like I had gotten her diamonds.  I offered for us to go out to eat and she said "Hell no, I'm not fighting those crowds.  We'll go tomorrow night".

And true be that. Mrs. Cheezegritz, I trust your thinking...how did it go so wrong?

And to be more specific...spent $59 on a dozen pink roses from the Harris-Teeter (upscale) including lilys and gypsophilia in a beautiful large vase..AND... romantical 6 dollar Valentine card.

Found the card three minutes later in the trash. She mumbled something about "better late than never".

Should we present Valentine's Day gifts a day early? Your input here is earnestly requested.
