1972 22-2 trailer
« on: February 11, 2012, 04:02:03 PM »
Looking at buying a 1972 22-2... no trailer with boat.  Is there a general rule when it comes to trailer size vs hull length?  This will be my second boat, first one already had a trailer... I'm hoping to keep it on a single axle trailer for weight & maneuverability.  Will a single hold a 22-2?  Thanks!

Length and weight are what you want to concern yourself with in regards to a trailer.  Single would probably work, but a double is the way to go.

A big single will work...but a tandem axle is preferred.

Especially a pull for any distance.

If one tire blows...at least you'll get to the next exit.

Just make sure the bunks are under the stringers. Tandem axle is the way to go, as has been said.

Bunks under the stringers... I don't know the hull well enough to know from the outside where the stringers run...
