Original badge colors?
« on: February 09, 2012, 12:56:19 PM »
I offered my one good 170 badge off my early 1970's model to the guys who are making a set for me and will have a mold for members who may want them in the future. What they want to know is if there is a color code or something they can use/reference to recreate the teal green surface color AND if the uncolored sides of the original badge/lettering were beige or white.  The one I supplied is beige, but we're not sure if it yellowed from age or if they were beige to start with. Can anyone help?

Ha!  yeah they just brought the badge over to me to ask the same question.  The one I saw on Skoots boat looked about the same off white.  Maybe Skoot can snap a picture of it.  That will also help with the 19-6 design.

This is the only shot I have of skoot's badge. Looks slightly off white.

This is my rendition. Custom matched green that I matched myself then spray clear over the plastic.

My other badge, where it's broken in two, looks really white inside is why we are not sure if they started white or not. Any guides we can give them to match the green color? I figured they'd just mix to copy what was on the one I sent, but anything we can do to help....

Thanks, Wingtime!

It was originally off-white.

Skoot is great with color samples...he sent me the correct color of his rubrail when we attempted to reproduce the 70's green rubrail.

Am sure that he wouldn't mind matching a color chip to his emblem color.

So Skoot....please let me know what you recommend color-matching-wise. And let me know the latest about those photos of your baitboxes too, ok?

Thanks,
