Deck caulking, and caulking colors

Just make sure to tape the outside edges of the caulking area!  P/O Of my boat did not do that when resealing fuel tank hatch and it looks like absolute garbage.

what i do is just wipe up excess with mineral spirits. gives you a nice uniform bead too if you use your finger behind the rag. prevents that oozing effect from whatever youre mounting.
