Used to go to the Keys (a lot). Most of these are from around 1985 to 1989.

Time to get out of here! We were about 25 miles SSE of Key West and the storm still caught us.



This is the last picture I have of my friend and our guide Roger Baker. He passed away about 2 years after I took this. He had his ashes scattered into Key west harbor. In the pic he is getting on our butts to hurry up and help him finish cleaning the boat. He was a Mako kind of guy. The yellow hull was a 1985 254 that was a special order gelcoat. Man that thing sure did ride nice.

The Mako?  She'd be right at home at any dock today.  Those storms?  Damn, I hate when that happens.  You guys must have pushed it 'til the early afternoon that day...

Nice pics Lew,the keys were alot more affordable back then and less crowded,the first time I was there in the early 80s it was $3 a night to camp at Bahia Honda,good times!

Lew great pics, brings back some memories for me, Pete the state parks down there are still 20 something a nite so a cheap trip down can still be had, tent with a window AC stuck out the side, did that many times.
