Trace, I think you are spot-on. Here in NC....gonna take a brave idiot to come in my house. Gonna take a REAL brave idiot to pull a pistol in my store.

I duck hunt, bird hunt. Know my way around a 12 gauge shotgun...same as tying your shoes in the dark.

Don't bring a pistol to an indoor shotgun fight....five-rounds  3 inch #1 buck,  improved cylinder,  24 inch barrel

Hate things are like that there. No wonder they are dealing with increasing splllover from the Mexican drug war.

If good citizens there were packing...at least they could send a message. And sending that type of message can be very powerful.

Just imagine a San Francisco newspaper headline similar to the two that began this thread.

i loved what one of the LEO's in dixie county told us after our place was broken into while we where off on a ride down the trails:

if someone comes onto our property, and we feel threatened, we have the right to shoot them dead...

crime has gotten BAD up there in the last few years, we regularly see tracks from trespassers across the back of our property, we used to go up there and not worry about locking the trucks, shed, garage, and lock the 4wheelers and dirt bikes up. now we have to do it every night or if we run into town. we've also got in the habit of carrying a gun when walking or riding the trails alone....

this reminds me... i need to get my 12ga from my grandpa out in texas...

Meth or crack heads, shoot them dead anyway...threatened or not.  No one will notice...or give a rat's a$$...

Yes, it is very sad.  I hope this unfortunate trend turns around.  There are too many free-loaders. Free-loaders vote, and as long as

they get free stuff, they will vote for whom ever is giving the free stuff.  That leaves me and you and every other tax payer to go to

work and pay for that free stuff.

Oh, hey, I can't wait to get some hog photos up here !!!

Alaska's concealed carry law is basically the 2nd Amendment.  You are allowed to pack if you are fishing, hunting, on your way to fish or hunt, thinking about going fishing or hunting, etc.  :thumleft:

So one day I'm talking with this cop in Sitka, and I said - "So just what is the rule for someone like me to carry a firearm here?"  His answer:  "Our basic position in law enforcement here is we'll take all the help we can get!"  Gotta like that answer.

When I was stationed in Montana and running to ICBM silos we always tried to back up the troopers.  We carried the target info to be loaded into Minuteman missiles so each of the 3 team members carried a sidearm and we always had an Air Force cop with us with a loaded M-16.  If we saw a state trooper with someone pulled over we would stop  a hundred feet or so back or on the other side of the highway and just sit until he pulled out.  Without fail they always stopped to thanks us.

Hey Older Brother,

I think you are on to something.... there is nothing like the sound of a Big Ol' Shotgun being racked into battery...

...I think our reaction to that sound is instinctive    it's in our DNA.  Ancient Aliens must'a put it in there, back when they

invented the 870 Wingmaster.

George is coming over tonight, we'll git a confab conference call going... you be there - I'll be there.  :drunken:
