JJ's critter cam

Swapped out the SD card in the critter cam late yesterday.  New visitors.

Something tells me that a deer can see infrared or hear electronics working.  The little guy is posing.

I have a big clearing about 20 yards from that spot.  As soon as it warms up I'll plant some of the stuff that deer like.  Maybe I can cultivate a herd.

I have not researched them enough to give an opinion.  This Moultrie D-55IR is the only one I have ever messed with and it was a gift.  I do recommend infrared flash over normal white flash.  Battery life seems to be an issue with some.  This one has external power jack where you can hook up 6 volt batteries (cheaper than the six internal C cells)  or even a solar power pack.  Mine has been out 2 weeks and is showing 90% battery life remaining.  I think that if it were in a really active area it would eat the C cells pretty fast.  My brother gets 200 pictures a week on the camera where he deer hunts.

Thanks Cap'n John,

That is a good site.  It will be helpful in deciding which one to get.  Can't wait to get some photos.

Best wishes, T
