WTF TELEFLEX?
« on: January 13, 2012, 09:24:22 AM »
I've been looking for a Baystar Kit for my 1999 Yamaha 115 2 Stroke. The teleflex site says they make it for the 4 stroke but not the 2 stroke. WHAT? The Baystar handles up to 150HP from what I've seen.

The Seastar kit DOES fit the 115 2 stroke....but that costs 800 bucks! Any insight here guys?

Fletch,
Just checked the install manual as well, seems to skip over the 115-130.  But I'm betting the HC4645 (the standard cylinder) will work.  I shall email my friend Marc Adams at Teleflex to get a verification.  He's in British Columbia, so give him time to wake up and reply!

As usual, Marc's on the ball!  Here's his email...

All is well here, me just as busy as you, just wish it was my own business…

Yep, BayStar will work with this.  I would suggest that you get the spacer kit, HO5090 as I remember something about the tiller arm on these early Yamaha engines that need the ½” aluminum spacer

Cheers

Marc

I actually think I have that spacer laying around.  Let me look, if I do, I'll send it to you...

Here's a link to the kit, I know I have the 1/2" aluminum piece...http://www.google.com/products/catalog? ... CF0Q8wIwAQ

BOB,

Holy crap man, you have some serious connections! Thank you so much!!! I see that kit online has a whole munch of other parts, do you have them as well? I'll gladly buy them:)

I can't thank you enough, seriously.

Hey Lewis, just my quick scribbles, that would be A. Scott...and as you you can see under Scott Dickson's (circlehooked) pics, he ALMOST let me pick DEN/NE for him!!!  I said almost...

Fletch, I looked at the kit, all you'll need is the 1/2" spacer I have.  The other plastic spacers are for use on Seastars due to different tilt tube widths of different engine manufacturers.  You don't need them with Baystar.  Just PM me your address and I'll send it to you.  You may need it, you may not.  If not, use it to shim up an uneven table leg...

I've known Marc for a long time, almost back to my Aquasport days.  Excellent dude, likes his Molson, or LaBatts, or whatever they drink up there!  Problem is Teleflex is 3 hours behind us, so sometimes I just have to wait.  But he always comes through.

Pm the address Fletch, on the house...
