out of pocket
« on: January 12, 2012, 08:35:14 AM »
Headed to Birmingham in a few.  You probably will not see me much the next few days.  My 83 year old mom is going to move in with us soon.  I'm going to take a few days to help her pack some stuff and do a few honey-do chores to get her house ready to sell.  Stay warm.  They are calling for 26 here Saturday morning and I'm sure Birmingham will be colder.

Good luck with your Mom, JJ.  Now you get to hear, "John, don't do that, you'll put somebody's eye out!" all over again!

No matter how old you get, you're still her kid...  Just be glad you've still got her - best to Mom and good luck with the move.   :salut:

Rick, when I was a kid, getting into my teens, at one time we had my Dad's Dad living with us, at another, my Mom's Mom...just kind of the deal, you know?

I understand - but there ain't nothing worse than living in a house where two women don't like each other

Excellent point there. Even if they don't live together....ugh.

"Hell hath no fury like a woman's (wimmens) scorn." Ben Franklin, Poor Richard's Almanac, 1770.

Hopefully not the case in JJ's world. But maybe some of us have seen it in our world....ugh.

We all do the best that we can. And that's all we can do.

I worried about that in the beginning but since my wife quit drinking three years ago they get along fine.  It was actually my wife that first suggested it.

Would like to salute you :salut:
Moms are unique, they spend their life putting up with husbands who would rather go fishing, kids that take them for granted, but yet when the chit hits the fan, who's the first one that calls and ask you ..Is Everyone OK...
