Looks like a Yellowfin, could be a Nor Tech though. They build lots of government boats, they are located by me.

Looks like a yellowfin.  Why does the highway patrol need a boat?

I've been to Zapata, TX.  I worked on an oil derrick right on lake falcon for two weeks. I could be mistaken, but I don't believe that boat is capable of operating on lake falcon. I'm going to have to call some old buddies in Texas to find out.

OK, I gotta ask the obvious question that seems to be a point here:  HIGHWAY Patrol?     I would like to see them pull me over on the Interstate with that...     Don't want to sound political here, but did Rick Perry come up with the idea of getting a fast boat for the Highway Patrol?

Saw one of  36ft texas highway patrol boats in person today. They bought 6 of them and are doing the training in Pine Island sound. The boat was at the Punta Rassa boat ramp when I was picking up my charter this morning. The guy's on board where really cool and had done the rigging and misc other systems. They explained to me they are training the texas cops to run the boat over the next 6 days. Nor tech had a boat there too to help with the training. The boat is bullet proof and has covers over the v-rods that are bullet proof too.
Amazing boat. Kinda cool the main guy was admiring my old flatback while he waited on the cops to show up.

So you guys don't have water cops?  I mean, go out on Tampa Bay, you have marine units from every agency out there...Hillsborough County, Pinellas County, Manatee County, Tampa Police, St. Pete Police, FWC...I'm sure there are more, but no Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).  Guess they figure highway means highway...
