« on: January 01, 2012, 08:00:22 PM »
I am trying to get an idea of what it will cost me in materials to redo my floor and stringers with all composite materials. The transom was already done so i dont have to worry about that....
Thanks in advance everyone!!

Kind of a tough question to answer...but...around 4K would be a start, materials only. Resin, glass, coring, solvents/rollers/sandpaper/brushes/gloves/respirators/pails, etc., etc.

Happy New Year :thumright:

Try to use all one size 4X8 sheets so you can use every piece, I used pretty much all 3/4 and stuck two pieces together to make the stringers.
Gran is probably pretty close in cost, shop around for the coosa. Composite 1 is about the cheapest if you don't mind the drive and can set up an account.

At Proline, we bought damn near everything through Composites One.  They have a distribution center in Lakeland, but, if they are making a delivery to a builder in your area (wherever that is), they may throw your load on the truck, you just have to get it off and tote it home...

Here's a link to their locations...http://www.compositesone.com/locations.htm

It was crazy how much I saved by using composite one compared to buying stuff from my local fiberglass supply store.  A little more than 1/2 the price on the coosa sheets and the cloth was cheaper but not by much. Even with gas for the drive to lakeland twice as I did not have the cash flow to buy it all in one shot it was a no brainer. You can smell the fiberglass resin there from a 1/4 mile away.
