The SS1002 is basically the HF742 with the higher damped card. What I ended up with.
For $107 and having my son pay, it was a no brainer.

Scott, if I was buying a new one, it would have been the SS1002. It drops right in to the old hole (on my WAC). As shown in your link, they share the same dims.

PS.... It came with the CCP, so it was almost 13 years old when I first got it, and has worked very well until it cracked this summer.

Gotcha. The 2000 looks to be exactly the same specs, but larger.

My eyes are getting worse all the time.....may go a bit larger, unless it will be too big for the top of the 27" console.

Well,

We had a delayed Christmas present opening due to family visiting, AND Genuine Deals had this on back-order... so, finally...

Ta da !!!  Last, but not least - my favorite Christmas presents !!!! :sunny:

The electronics book recommended by SeaBob4 (many thanks) and the fuse block to replace our boat's "tired" existing block.

I've already read most of the book and it is well worth the few bucks spent.

Can't wait to go do the replacement.

Oh, and any "hey, T, make sure to do this...." 's    are welcome  :salut:

Yes I realize this is late but....

My son sent off my old Ritchie compass just before Christmas and had it repaired at the factory.
Found the box on my desk when I got home tonight. :o

Merry X-mas, just a little late.

Still,

A 100% "Made in the US of A" 1983 product, fully refurbished for....
$107 shipped. This is a Helmsman model with an upgraded SS1000 series card.

We still do some pretty good stuff in this Country. :thumright:

Going to look good with my new Pacific Blue Bimini overhead.

Must give a "shout out" to CB on this refurb suggestion. For a Classic Aquasport rebuild...it "don't get no better than this".
