Color for deck?
« on: December 09, 2011, 09:01:19 PM »
Gettin ready to  do my deck with Kiwigrip-
They same you can mix the stuff to any color.
Not sure which way I want to go.
Have the outside hull Fighten Lady Yellow.
Regellen the inside with the Alm/Eggshell.
Would kinda like a "semi" darker color for deck
Possibly the Yellow(But never have seen a yellow floor deck)
Or the Light Brown aquasport color.
Any recommends?
Thanks

So what would be a good contrasting color to FLY?  That's what you are looking for, I would imagine.  Can't think of any off hand...

Hi,

The kiwi-grip is a nice product. Members here have used it and a similar product.

The almond would go well with your hull color. BIG thing...keep it light in tone, to prevent burned feet (especially the kids) on a hot summer day.

You'll like the product. Finds and fills hairline cracks, spider cracks, seeps and weeps.

 Done deal.

something as light as possible I can tell you that much... my buddy has light gray decks in his boat and they get REALLY hot for bare feet!

Did my deck in grey kiwi grip, its really much lighter in color than I thought it would be and much closer to white than grey. I like it and think it would go well with the FLY. I have not made it through a FL summer yet so I don't know how hot it will get, I always ware Croc's onboard anyway. My buddy did his deck FLY to match the outside, he used awlgrip with glass beeds, It looks good but it is not even close to as non skid as the kiwi grip and gets scary slippery once a few fish have hit the deck

Well i guess you don't have an early seventies 19-6 or 22-2 with the factory water cooled aft deck. No need to worry about deck color. just take a lap around the last 2 feet of the aft deck and cool off your feet and your good to go for 10 minutes. They were really ahead of their time!

I went with Durabak grey for my deck.  Never got hot on my feet at all during the summer.

HIFLUTIN I'd love to see a pic of the hull in fighting lady yellow.  Really thinking about this color and would love to see how it looks on an AS, as well as with whatever bottom paint you got

I've got the factory tan on my CCP - it does get hot!  Go with something that does not have red or other infra-red absorbing color in it.
