Dam I luv this time of year in the PNW

Best friend has a jet sled, river bar where we launch is less than 2 miles from my house. Hit the river last Saturday for four hours. This is Captain Dave drifting a 1/4 ounce jig under a float hoping for a salmon

On light spinning gear what a blast

You guys ever tried getting a photo of a hooked fish jumping out of the the water. Tried numerous times,can never catch it on film

Well it was a great day, this is Captain Dave holding a hen Chum Salmon, we landed over 20 Chum Salmon and around 10 Coho Salmon, a few of them will be in the smoke house this weekend,. Smoked salmon at Christmas make for good gifts

Yep, this is me holding a buck  Chum Salmon, may not be pretty (salmon that is) but they smoke up real well

Yep me again with a  Coho Salmon. Getting later in the day, after a few brews and toasting the fish gods.

Anyway, just a little fish porn from the other coast.
Except for the politics, if you enjoy fishing year round,this is a great place to live.

Bill,

     Awesome, awesome photos and story.  Thanks heaps for posting.  I can only imagine the fun and excitement you had catching THAT MANY fish.  

That much fish catching just extended your life another 3 or four years, depending on what kind of beer you drink.  Pabst Blue Ribbon? No less than five vigorous years.   Portland Artsey-Fartsey Pantywaist Stale Ale micro-brew...um, not so much.
     
Oh, and ditto on your last observation.

When I was posting I saw you were on line, I would quess you and I are the only 2  members still awake seeing we are out here on the L coast. As far as what kind of beer I drink, anything but microbrew, if I can't buy it in Safeway I won't drink it. Actually just started drinking light beer recently, found it left more room for Crown Royal.
 When it comes to politics out here don't  get me started.

BTW, I have always enjoyed your post

Bill, those are beauty fish, we caught more than our share of Coho and Chinook in Lake Michigan growing up, plus my favorite, lake perch (don't know if you guys have them in the rivers up there...)

You also must not have much of an LEO presense.  Those brewskis in the cockpit would be WELL hidden down our way! :shock:  :shock:

Not saying we don't imbibe, but, because of our location in the prime import/export area of the states (that would be humans, dope, arms, bananas, whatever), we have a VERY high amount of LEAs on the water at any given time... :wink:
