Boat names that suit an aquasport
« on: December 06, 2011, 05:49:49 AM »
Hey everybody!
I have been trying to think of boat names that would suit my aquasport, since I bought her. These boats have a lot of character & history behind them, so I don't think any old name will do. I think aquasports need to have original names that you won't see on anyone else's transom.

My first boat's name is Ben Fishin' , since my name is Ben. My second boat was named Ben Fishin' II. I have been thinking of just continuing on with that & naming her Ben Fishin' III, but I'm not sure if I want to keep the name. My initials are BTF & I have been trying to figure out a way to rearrange Ben Fishin Three(BFT) into a configuration that would make it BTF. I almost want something more classic as well as more original though. I have been searching for names having to do with the color blue because the boat is painted marlin blue. I really like one word names as well. The only one word name that I have clung onto is Bodacious or boatacious.

What do Yall think? Stick with Ben Fishin' III, rearrange Ben Fishin' III, or go with something else (bodacious or a blue name)? Do Yall have any other suggestions for one word names if I would go that route?

That article posted at the end of the 24' Morgan classified ad about all the boats of boca grande pass really got my wanting a one word, original name.

All four of my Aquas have been named Reef or Madness I-IV.

On another note, my friend for many years had two Whalers named "ReBait" and "DeBait"

Just sayin. :|

When I was trying to come up with an original name for my CCP, I went online and googled how to name a boat.  There were a lot of articles with ideas on how to come up with an original name.  I ended up with Nauti Hooker.  Its a nice play on words and there are only 2 others, one in the northeast, and one on the west coast.

I struggled for a while before coming up with something... I wanted it to mean something, but still be a sort of play on words... "King of the C's" just whacked me in the head one day.  Last name starts with "C", the boat is on the "sea" and I am the head of household (hence the King :king: ! At least in my own mind)

Since you opened the door here...I like themes.  Had a series of sailboats named:  Spun Sugar, Spun Dreams and Spun Gold...

So how 'bout keeping with the "Ben" theme, but change it up?

For example, I like

"Where Ya Ben?"

Name her after your wife or girlfriend using custom decals. It says I care, how romantic! Once named they feel obliged to sign-off on purchase orders and release funds as time goes by. Unlike tatoos, they can be easily removed if you need to do a changeover to a new name.

I didn't  think about keeping the Ben in there with another word. Maybe Ben drinkin'. Haha. However, I may get the cops doing safety checks on me every weekend if I had that name on the side. Well, the girlfriend's name is Kelsey. I've been joking about naming it the Miss Kelsey, but she hasn't been too keen of it.  Everybody I know who has named a boat after a woman(besides their daughter) either breaks up or gets divorced.

Ben whipped. Haha. I like that c master.

My dad thought I should do the taking care of business TCB logo with the lightning bolt.

I may want to incorporate the name Tate in there too because it was my grandfather's name & its my middle name. Every boat I owned until this one, he has had some effect. I'm still even driving his 1997 suburban around everyday. He was & still is a big part of my life.

Kelsey Gramurr (Spelled wrong on Purpose...it's Ironic.....right?)

"Bouys in the hood"

"Yeaaaaa Bouy"

"Cavi-Tate"

"KelSea"

Thats all I came up with. I don't believe in naming boats under 30 feet. But, If I had to, I'd name my boat :*: Investment"

Kind Regards,

I told the boys this story a long time ago, but it is still funny, so here goes:

One of my buddies vinyl lettered his boat "Flounder Queen"

He kept it on a lift.

One night one of his friends pulled up to the opposite side of the lift, took a razor knife, and partially cut off the letter "n" in "queen"... turning it into an "r"

He rode around all summer, everyone was pointing and laughing...he'd just smile and wave back!!!
