Looking for a Console
« on: November 20, 2011, 10:20:56 PM »
Anyone got a console for a 80's 170 laying around that they dont want?  I am looking to do something custom and I dont want to take the boat out of comission longer than neccisary.  I would even look at other consoles if you have something similar in size to the origional.

Have you checked Marine Surplus in Bradenton?  They have a bunch of consoles.

They are extremly expensive for being such generic consoles.  If I have to spend that ammount of money, I will build one from scratch.  Not that I dont like the place, but its not the place to buy a console.

pbustle,

I have an original from a '73 22-2 that I'll give to you. You most likely will want to slice it in half and narrow it down...it would be a little wide for a 17.

PM me if you like.

Capt Mark, Thats an interesting cosole.  Do Can you give me measurements?  It looks a little small compared to the origional and I am looking to stay somewhere close to the origional size.

I will give the dimensions tomorrow.  I also have one out of a 19'6 but it will need some major work.

I dont care if the one out of the 196 needs major work.  Do you have a photo of it?  If i decided to just take my boat out of comission, it woudl require major work to get my console how I want to, so wokring on another one and not loosing the use of the boat is more important.

Does anyone knwo if the console in the 196 is the same as the one in my 88 170?  it looks the same to me, but I have never gotten any measurements.

The dimensions on the small console (already pictured) is 24" wide x 24" deep x 27" high.

Here are the pics of the AS 19'6 console, it is 38.5" wide x 24' deep x33" high.

AS you can see in the pics it has been modified several times including some one cutting the front seat off.

That woudl have been exactly what I need if someone had not cut the front seat off.  Now I have to decide if I want to just put a cooler up there and move the baitwell to where my leaning post is or if I need to find one with the seat still in place.  You dont happen to have the seat do you?  If you did I could put it back together and it would be fine.  How much do you want fo it?  That may sway my decision as well.

The rebuild was my dilemma also.  I am doing a 19'6 and just don't need that much work for a console.  Send me a pm or email and we can discuss a deal.....
