PS, your casting deck looks good. There is only a small amount of wood to deal with.

As you may know, there are new hatches available to fit this deck, per original.

Re the deck height....mine we have raised exactly one inch.

I used a few 2X4's and screwed them right though the sides of the boat before I removed the cap so it would hold its shape. I think resetting the cap will be ok though to give you the original shape.
I also tabbed and glassed the cap back onto the hull instead of using screws to attatch it. Gave me a one piece hull feel in the end and I hate knocking out screws of the rub rail with dock pilings.  It took some fairing but I was really happy with the end product and its crazy strong.

Its been crazy at work lately but have kept the work moving forward for the boat.  The past week and a half, we've finished the transom, cut the stringers and removed all the foam (soaking wet), reglassed the stringers, started on the knees, and reinforced the bottom of the forward casting platform.  Got some pictures below.  I've decided to build a new console from a mold that I have access to.  It's a little taller and thinner than the original console, but I think it will work better for me since it will give us more room between the console and gunnels.  It also allows me to flush mount my electronics when I get to that point.  I have more pictures of the transom but haven't uploaded them to photobucket just yet.  We wrapped the mat and glass around the corners of the transom and 6 inches forward on the outside of the boat so that the transom it rock solid.  Will fare it in tomorrow, sand and have ready for paint.  Still a lot of work to do.  Now I've got to worry about setting the hull back to where it needs to be.  After sitting without the cap on, it has sagged out to the side a little more that it should.  We will set that in place before i start to glass in the bulk heads for the stringers.

two inch thick Penske Board. 26 pound density

Great progress.  How do you plan to rim the transom edge left (at the sides)?

Not sure what you mean.  We wrapped the glass on the transom around each side of the boat and up 6 inches.  I didn't get a picture of that before we started to putty it and smooth it out.  Some of the pictures below may show you what i mean.  We basically wrapped glass on the outside and inside of the hull.  Last week, we finished the knees for the transom and took it to a lake nearby.  I bought 1700 pounds of sand to help distribute weight through out the boat to give me a good idea on how show will sit when loaded.  I put 700 pounds in the back  to accommodate for a Yamaha 200 Fourstoke.  I know they only weigh 583 (or close to) but wanted to add in the weight of the porta bracket, and set back.  Still not sure what engine I want to go with (wither yamaha 200 fs or 175 Suk) but I figured if I set everything up for a 200, then the 175 should only make the boat run better.  Fuel Tank is being shifted forward, as well as leaning post live well and console.

This week, we have been setting the sides of the boat back to where they should be, as well las making sure the hull is resting "true" or even on trailer.  I tied two stings from each corner to cross each other and was able to set the hull in the right position with shims.  This way, when we glass in the bulkheads, the boat will be set in the correct position.  I didn't want to "reinforce" the sag of the boat, and then have trouble fitting the cap when it comes time to assembling everything.  More pictures coming when we finish bulk heads.

Sorry didn't catch that at first.  I loaded a picture in my previous post that shows us working on the left side of the transom.  We had to cut the Penske board a little on the top, as well as the glass in the corner.  We filled the small area between the corner of the transom and Penske Board, and then glassed from the outside.  After sanding everything, we were able to come out with a really nice transition.

Wow...you're looking good :thumright:

Particularly the water shots simulating the load. The balance is right there. Unfortunately the rest of us don't have that test ability...so good deal, and thanks for sharing.

Also...like the small guide console for ease of use.

Great work, keep posting...and BTW...check your PM's (Private Messages)

Tx.
