It is what it is, Bry, but...if you can wade through all the BS, it is a very valuable site.  It's the wading that sucks! :x  :x

Yes, true. There are some good things about it.
Sad they are far and few between

Not to de-rail (yeah, but whatever...), how's that Osprey doing?  And how's the weather out there?

Hey, we'll give him a chance to post the "other side" (preferably not in CAPS).
I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt that maybe he's not one of the interested parties - maybe just standing up for rule #4

(maybe CB in disquise     (Gary at FS used another acct to stir it up) )

COULD BE CB in disguise...an alter-ego, if you will.

This way, he could zap hisself...yet feel no pain, guilt, or remorse. While basking in the full and instantaneous pleasure of his first "zap."

Sounds like a movie script. Or a Fabio novel

Yep, you may be on to something Fearless Leader

Well to all concerned
I just tried to Ban myself for your pleasure (and most likely mine) but alas it is not to be.
It appears that one cannot ban himself :(

I feel like I'm in an Ed Wood movie.

You just keep up the good work, "Sweeper."

And sing this song:

"Don't....Bogart....that buttercorn, my friend....Pass it over...to me, eee-eee."

In the meantime...keep your left hand on the red button

After reading the Florida Sportsman posts by Mr. Black, I can only venture to guess that he is SPORTING BIG MAN PAINTS DOING MAN WORK WITH BIG BAD HANDS WHILE YOU T BACK WEARING FAKES ARE SCARED OF YO OLD LADDY BECUZ YALLZ SPENDT TOO MUCH MONEYS ON YALLZ AQS THAT AINT NO HOT RODS.

Then again, he could be dedicating all of his free time in intensive GRE exam preparation in order to gain acceptance to an ivy league graduate program in linguistics. As evidenced by his posts, he does seem to have a keen interest in the cutting edge evolutionary linguistic topics of grammar, syntax, morphology and phonology.

Well, today was a long and painful day.  At 2pm the mediation began between C____ and I (R___ no showed and sent C___ in his place).  Finally around 3:45, after sitting with 2 different mediators, we met the judge who will formally hear the  case in late January.

C___ is adamant that not only does he not owe me money, but mentioned a few times that I actually owe him money!?!?!?   Not sure what that was about as I was never privileged to see what document he was flailing around.

In short, C___ seems to think that the original job invoice with signature was actually an estimate.  This alone he believes clears him from any responsibility.

I must say that I found this experience troubling at best.  I have never been in a situation where someone so blatantly lies; let alone with in a legal proceeding.  I've  never been in a room where a person is so comfortable to shred whatever morals and self respect they have.  With the "Jay Black" messages still fresh in my mind and listening to C___ speak, I actually felt very sorry for him.  Today I learned and finally understood the true definition and feeling of pity.

Until another update or someone posts a direct question - Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

Hang in there, I'm sure the judge will see through all that.

The guy is not going to change no matter what you do.  Once a jerk always a jerk.  It would have been better not to have done business with him in the first place but now you're stuck.  You should get a sheriff to go with you to pick up your boat & sue them in small claims court. Even if you have to pay him 100% to get you boat back with incomplete work, it sounds like you will prevail in court.  Cut you losses for now and let the system work. You can also file a claim with the Governors office for consumer affairs and file a complaint with the BBB.
