This shop wants to help out like that, yet take no credit, there is hope for this world yet.

Scott thank you for all you did too, you are truly one of the good ones  :thumright:

Scott, thanks old buddy, but I can't take ANY credit for this...it was just an amazing occurrence that I'm happy to relate

I'm looking forward to everything working out. And it will.

Best to all that have offered their support in the past...and going forward.

Let's keep it up.

We're gonna win here.

Thanks again Scott for your help and forwarding the offer from the local shop.  I have been in contact with them a few times and their generosity is overwhelming.  However, in light of my boat being functional now, I am holding off from getting any work done or completed until this is over.  Should/When this goes to court, I want to be able to show I have done nothing but need the money get the work done.

Another person who deserves a great shout out is "Group W Bench"  He too reached out and offered to assist me with anything I may need.  How cool is this site and the people who populate it?

So tomorrow is the deadline for the company to respond.  Needless to say at this point, my expectations on hearing from them is 0%.

Hopefully you all aren't bored of this...

R___ and C___ S___ did not respond to my two letters.  They have left me with little choice but to use consumer advocacy groups to try to collect the refund.  Again the amount sought after is a very fair and reasonable amount.

Unfortunately it is going this direction.  One of my biggest faults is giving far too much credit to people.  R____  got as much as I could give, now I am pissed.

Some interesting facts I have found out:

1) R___ reopened a business that went bankrupt under his supervision a few years back called Gulf to Bay Marine, Inc.  He filed on 10/22/11 with the state of Florida.
2) R___ may be partnering with an ex employee from Robalo to make a new line of boats he wanted to call EXUMA.  This boat is definitely being promoted and sold by Bay Pines Marina.  I doubt the Travis family knows of R___ S___'s history and background otherwise I am sure they wouldn't be involved with R___ or any one of R's companies like H____ Design Boat Builders or E___ Boatworks.

Take those bums to small claims court.  You have more than enough evidence that they did not complete the job you contracted them to do.  If they don't bother to show up you will win a judgment against them.  It's an easy process.  Just go down to the Pinellas county court house and file complaint.  And don't be nice on the amount you seek.  The time for being nice has passed.  Demand a FULL refund in the complaint.  When you appear in court the clerk will ask the parties if they would like to meet with a mediator to solve the case before you go in front of a judge.  If he is smart he will show up and go to mediation and make you a counter offer to settle the case since he knows he was in the wrong.

Here is a link to the Pinellas County Small claims website:  http://www.pinellasclerk.org/aspinclude2/ASPInclude.asp?pagename=smclaims.htm

Oh and go the extra step and have the summons delivered by a process server and not certified mail...  The will send a huge message that you are not fooling around.  After all I believe these guys flat out stole from you.

Do you really think asking for the full amount is appropriate?  If we don't go to mediation, what is my basis for a 100% refund even though I do have the livewell installed?

Was totally planning on it.  I hope to have R__ served at his work shop so his crew can watch and laugh at him.

When I was collecting my boat and the "bodyguards" (as I called them) were watching, a couple of the guys from the shop rushed over to help me connect my trailer to my truck.  One of the guys whispered - "sorry dude."  Those guys would probably enjoy watching R___ and C___ get served and watch them get enraged and lose emotional control for a bit.

I would think so.  They did not do what you hired them to do. They wasted your time.  Did you loose an entry fee for the tournament?  Your due that too.   I'd go get a quote from a reputable shop on the cost on correcting what they did to your boat.... better yet get three quotes.
