Remove Diamond Non-Skid?
« on: September 21, 2011, 04:02:43 PM »
I am replacing my deck, and fixing holes in the hatches on the castplatform on my 170. Obviously, the deck will no longer have the pattern, but the trough cover (whick is solid) will remain, as well as the hatches. I dont want a mismatched look......how should I fix this? Seems like sanding it down would be damn near impossible, and using filler would be heavy and look like garbage. My brain hurts......help please.

Good thing I didn't have a mouthful there!!

There are companies that make non-skid patterns, builders use them when making plugs for molds. See what I can find...

Thanks Bob!

Worst case, I guess I can just keep the hatches with the pattern, and use the trough lid as a stencil for a new one I can glass in.......Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Mine is coming off....80 grit and a sander.....after new base color paint, then re-apply nonskid with a complimentary color....using a sand type finish....
