It would be really easy to over cook them if you fry them turning them into white rubbery battered erasers! LOL
The ones I made tonight were cooked in melted butter with a touch of sherry wine with light bread crumbs with garlic salt and paprika sifted on top along with more melted butter and wine drizzled on top of that. Then they are broiled for five minutes. The bread crumbs soak up the nice "scallopy" juices.... and they melt in your mouth... dang now I want more of them!

Excellent work! What depth were they in 5-6'?
I've been thinking on heading up to bayport, just haven't got around to it yet. Did you trailer your boat, if so how long was the drive from Clearwater?

Scott They were in about 6-7' or so. I trailered my boat up from St. Pete. It took just under two hours. The weekend before I had a little earlier start and there was less traffic. The boat ramp was busy and almost all the parking spots were taken by 8:30. Now if some people new how to park and didn't block two spots there would be more parking space. I just drove straight up 19. I took my time and kept it under 55 and I think I averaged 45 or so. When we returned to the ramp it was mass chaos! People who had no idea how to launch or retrieve their boats. Idiots in a 10 ft john boat that left it tied up to the dock blocking a ramp.. then when he did get there he messed around with stuff and then tried to get it started... Dude! move your boat to the end of the dock so I can load my boat and let the next guy in line in! GEEZ!
Oh and my winch cable snapped... I just had to go for that one extra click... then BAM! aw @#$@!#!
You only have until the 25th I think so you'd better get on up there!
