Gran -

Looks very nice...was that 24 a good boat?  Was it deep vee or with modified vee/deadrise similar to the 22-2's?   If he'd take 12k that might be worth it.  I'd have a little money coming out of my 170.

I am interested in knowing more about it, so if - and ONLY if - you have the time/inclination to look at it, I'd be curious about the hull...("re-painting" isn't "re-flooring" or "re-transoming".)

What are those old 140's worth??  If they're truly running ok, I'd probably leave 'em on it and run it some, then swap them later.  I doubt I'd get much of a discount by leaving them with the Owner and then I'd need to put a 250+ on the back, right?   Then I'd be in over $30k.

I wonder if my 4wd '04 Suburban can pull it!   Or stop it!  (assuming it's got brakes).

Jessie, I think I hear some of that Suzuki talk peeking about.  BTW, I do love Zukes, you know that...

Eh... Maybe a little bit    I had to stick up for my Suzuki, she's been real good to me and sips gas like its a fine wine.  Its the first anything I've ever owned that was brand new... She's all mine.

IMHO, the 240 is beautiful.  I found a good pic of the deadrise of a 240 (this one looks to have been redone, but you get the idea):

This came from an ad on boat trader, 12 pics if you want to take a look-

For Sale in Indianapolis for $7999.  Looks good, minus the hokey trailer     Comes with a pair of turbo inboards

How 'bout this...would have been a lot of driving.  Doubt it's still around unless the floor/transom was shot.

Damn, she's a beaut, Jess!!  Some serious ventilation in that console!  Wonder if there is a bilge pump down in between those motors somewhere?

OK gearheads, I know the two middle pipes with the flapper valves are exhaust but what are the two large round ones below them?
From the pic showing the bilge, I see what is some kind of stainless shafts (or tubes) that appear to be connected to those round plates on the transom. The rudder controls appear attached to those shafts to hold them inline. Are they for raw water cooling???
They look kinda small for that.

CB,
No, the main intakes would probably be 1 1/2", and located on the hull bottom relatively proximate to the motors (must be fun to access the shut-off valves on them!!).  I've no clue what they are, and I have studied those pics...

Interestingly, I see no strainers (basket type) for the mains, nor do I see any Racors.  That boat must be a "treat" to work on...

This is unlikely, but I'm wondering if those outside s/s plates are "mistakes"...maybe the holes were too low the first time!  Odd that the exhausts didn't exit further to the sides...maybe the stringers were in the way.

Cliff, yeah, maybe (real nice cover plates!), but the tubes...

I think I'll post this on THT.  I'm curious...

Someone put their heart and soul in those engines. Lots of custom work. The engines are base iron duke I4 141 cu in. 140hp GM's that Mercruiser developed with GM for their IO powerplants. A lot of work for an extra 25 hp of boost. Still very sweet and probably runs very nice and sips fuel. That truly is one of a kind and the hull appears to be very cherry.

Anyone ever seen one of these boats set up with twin inboards like that before?
Very cool ride, she has to be one of a kind.

She looks to be priced right too...

If anyone is interested in this boat, my brother lives in Indiana and I can have him check it out.  He came from the loins of Tom Marlowe too, so he knows a good bit about boats himself  :pl:

Called twice...so far an answering machine. I'll keep working on it.

I'm sure that little Chevy of yours will do just fine
