It'll be cool to see what pops up.

Thank you Rick. I can’t wait!
Forgot to mention that so far I have not cut any new glass off the roll.
I have been using the pieces left over from the 6 floor halves. Some of those sections are over 20” wide and they are all 17’ long. I never thought I  would run out of 1708 but the pilot house is probably going to clean me out of a roll of 130 yards.

Second full layer is in the books. One more layer left. I’ve been thinking of reinforcement core strips out of plywood but with so many bends and angles I don’t know if I’m going to need any.
1708 is such a great fabric to work with. There is something satisfying about pressing the dry piece into place and working it to take the exact shape. You can wet a single layer with a roller but two layers or an overlap doesn’t soak as well so I press all the pieces in place then remove the sections creating an overlap. I then roll resin onto the CSM side before putting the piece back down. It still holds most of the shape of the dry fit. Great stuff

Thank you Duffy I appreciate it.

Yes it’s hot!!
And this is inside the garage. The humidity is making it seem even worse. This AC has been running for over an hour.

Look how nice this stuff lays down dry…

Final layer done!
I won’t be able to get back on this for 3 days so Monday I will do my clean up grinding and pop it out of the mold and test fit it.  I like to give a day or two anyways for the resin to firm up a bit more and not gum my grinder as much. All that messy over glass around the openings gets ground down to the mold by design to ensure the desired height. I can’t believe it is done! Years of thinking about it. There is still a lot of work to do to complete it. It gets a lot of teak trim. Stay tuned!
