I got this in my email today, and thought it was too cool not to share with you guys.  8)   I think my dad has bought and regrettably sold at least one of each of these cars...

Nice!
In high school I had a white '55, I think the model was 210, just under Bel Air, and a red '57 Bel Air.  Both V-8 with a stick shift.  The '55 was a clunker but the '57 was mint except for the '75 Pontiac Grand Am bucket seats I cobbled into it.  Of course, the cars were 11-12 years old by the time I was in high school.

Well I had a 57  2 dr. sedan, 265 with a 4 speed.
I had a 66 Chevelle (not really shown) and Corvette (ragtop) 396 and 427 respectively, both 4 speeds.
3 Camaros but none with a 427
One of my friends Dad had a 59 that he (friend) drove us to high school in.
And my dad had a 60 Impala (different tail lights) that I rode in but never got a chance to drive.

Bob's four speed was the Muncie "Rock Crusher" available in 1965. 1963 and '64 ran the Borg-Warner T-10.

The Muncie was a big improvement...shorter throw, smoother.

My first car was a 58 Belair. When I was old enough a bought a 66 Chevelle Malibu. My next and favorite was a brand new 1968 SS, with the 3 speed in the floor hooked to the 325HP version. Paid $2800 at Bill Heard Chevy in Columbus,GA. Then I got Married than that slowed down new car purchases. Later had two 55's. Paid $25 for one and $35 for the other. Never finished restoring them, but sold because wife keep complaining about all my junk.

In 1970 I paid $375 for a 1963 Impala S/S.  Black, 2 dr. convertible hard top, red interior, the high output Corvette 327, factory 3 speed on the floor with bench seat.  That thing would fly.  Finally lost a main crank bearing and sold it for $100.

Yep,
In my mind, those old cars are really something but that fades quickly when I drive anything fairly modern. Far and away my 99 "Tin Ingin" does everything better (acceleration, top end, braking, handling and by far, mpg) than the Vette ever dreamed of. The Vette does take the cake for the interior but that old rat motor is no comparison to the LS1 mill in the T/A. Burns regular or premium fuel (with the on board knock sensor) and gets (with the proper foot control) 17 mpg in town and and 27 mpg on the highway.

Unfortunately it doesn't come with an 8 track player.
