...I'm gonna hinge the top 1/4 of it, so's I can unlatch it, fold the top section open and work on my wiring. It wouldn't be that hard to add a fiberglass 'lip' around the inside of the "break", to keep water out. Sort of like the forward deck hatches on my 170. (I'm assuming this already exists on newer boats?)I was jacking with my under-console wiring last night, and I know I'd do a better job if I didn't have to contort myself like Houdini. My glasses are NEVER in the right position to see what I'm doing, I'm in my own light, and my arms are about as useful as those little front legs on a Tyrannasaurus, especially laying on one shoulder! Waaahhh....Waaaahhh!!!
Look around for pics of the console from a Mako 224. Don't know if it's hinged, but the top section is removable.
Boat buidler here in Florida, Dorado, has a folding console. Give them a call, bet they would sell you one.
Dorado probably would, they always seemed to need the money when I was at Stamas...

Aaron,When I was with Stamas, a few guys would get pissed and head over to Dorado. They had trouble getting paid...
I didn't see an example of their console though Scott - did I miss it?
