Hurricane Katia ...

I'm sure some of you have already seen this, but for those who might not have, there's a new system off the coast of Africa that's following almost the same track as Irene

Wow, that is a nice site. Love the "yellow line"/mouse feature.

If you take the cursor and draw a current-track straight line to the US mainland....

One was enough.

They are telling us this almost but not quite a storm in the Gulf is going to drown us over here.  I'm on a hill but it's possible the runoff from the adjoining property could cause me trouble.  Up to 15 inches of rain over the next few days.

Gulf Shores is already getting the rain and winds.  Nothing up here 38 mi. to the NW yet but it's creeping this way.

I guess I don't care how much it rains up here but I hope the big winds stay away.  They are only calling for 20-30 mph over here.

We seem to just be getting the outer edges of the rain bands.  Not too bad.  Not torrential or anything.  Wind probably gusting to 20-25 when a band comes through.  Louisiana is getting dumped on.

good 30 to 40 gusts over here, raining sideways.  From the radar, Pensacola is getting hit by the outer bands with a lot of red in the radar, tore the neighbor's tarp right off the boat cover frame.. I went panic shopping for more Yeungling....
