Old Molds?
« on: August 29, 2011, 06:18:03 PM »
I'm sure this has been discussed many times, but for those of you in/from the Florida boat-building world, does anyone know what became of the early Aquasport molds? (not the Flatbacks...the later shapes.)

Just wondering if they still exist someplace.

C,
If you're really interested, contact Rob Wilhoit at The Boathaus in Sarasota.  I know he has a bunch of later year small parts molds, he'd know as well as anyone...http://www.boathaus.net/

If indeed Aeon has procured some of the old molds from the early days, there claim to the "performance lift" hull bottom would indeed set them apart from the classic Aquasports, i.e. 19-6, 17, 22-2, in short, any AS hull that was produced in Hialeah.  And in my opinion, that makes them an Aeon, and not a reincarnation of an AS.  Don't care where their molds came from.  JMHO...
