Sold my Aqua
« on: August 27, 2011, 04:08:07 PM »
Hi Guys,
I've been away for a while, busy antifouling & cleaning up my Aqua for sale. I sold it a few days ago and I have just bought another boat - It's a 2002 Proline 190 with a 125 Mercury on the back, I couldn't find another Aqu here in UK that I could afford so i'll use this for the rest of the season & see how it goes. I will keep my eye open for an Aqua though!!!!

Well, Colin, seeing as I did work for PL for a while...

The 190 was a bit before my time there, but I understand she's a bit wet.  Hey, just reporting what I've been told...

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the sentiments, I will gladly stay with you & post up some pics etc & check in from time to time. I heard the same about the 190 being a bit of a wet ride but hey, it rains a lot here anyway so no change there! I took her for a spin the other day (i'm hoping to get out later today too) my first impressions are that she's not as solid in the water as the Aqua, if that's the correct term. By that I mean she does not cut through the waves as easily, this is possibly because she is a little lighter, the Aqua shifted a lot more water when looking aft in full flight. The Mercury 125 ran well but obviously with less thrust than the Johnson GT200, it also has a standard alloy prop at the moment, I intend to change that. I also bought an aftermarket T top with bimini & fitted it last week, not been out since, it will have added a fair bit of top weight, so the handling will be a lot different - we'll see.

Here are some photos of the Proline, what do you think, I know that this style of boat is common in the States, but they are a bit of a rarity here in UK, so they do create some interest from other boatie types.

My uncle had a 24' Proline CC that he sold and the buyer shipped it home to the UK.

Yes Florida numbers - what do you mean dead give away? I don't know what you mean by that. maybe a Florida joke? I would be interested to find out the history but I only know that it was exported to UK in 2004. can I trace previous owners by the numbers?
