The federal government had a five day window to get supplies/support/staging areas near there. They failed miserably.

The State of Louisiana was all over it though.

Sure would like  to think that they were. Governor Bobby...And former mayor Nagele (sp?)

Let's not forget the entire state is/has been/was/still is famous for corruption. Saw on CBS 20/20 the new mayor had the FBI come in and clean house on the NOPD.

Well it ended up being the worst time to leave the keys:

Landed in Philly 8/23 10:20 approximately 3 and a half hours later while sight seeing in center city the earthquake hit    so they evacuated all state fedaral buildings

Saturday the day of the wedding Irene made it's way through scranton for the (outdoor) wedding
